Woodworkers Fighting Cancer

Since 2010, Marc Spagnuolo, aka, The Wood Whisperer, has been holding an annual event called Woodworkers Fighting Cancer in order to raise money for cancer research. The following is their mission for this year:

We are woodworkers united in the fight against cancer. Our goal for 2013 is to raise $10,000 forĀ CancerCare, a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved.

I’ve decided that I would like to throw my support behind this great goal, so what I will be doing is donating 25% of all new plane or gift certificate orders through December 9th to WFC. I really want to see them reach their goal of $10,000.

Be sure to check out the Woodworkers Fighting Cancer page to see other ways you can be involved. Many woodworkers are building children’s art easels as part of the charity build, with money being donated for each easel completed. You can also donate directly at the WFC page if you so desire. Visit the page by clicking here for more details.

If one of my planes have been on your radar to purchase, I would be honored if you decided to do so in the next couple weeks so that I can help WFC meet their goal for CancerCare. As I mentioned, I will donate 25% of any new plane order (even the Ready To Ship planes) or gift cards (great idea for that woodworker on your Christmas list!) purchased before December 9 to WFC. Custom plane orders are included, so if you have an idea of something different than I normally offer, be sure to use my contact page to send me an email and we can work out the details.
